Yorkshire is a great place to holiday with a dog. There are moors, dales, woodland and long sandy beaches, and plenty of pubs and cafés where muddy paws are welcome. Here are ten of our favourite places to go with your dog, and where to stay.

Rules for dogs change with the seasons, especially on beaches in summer and on moorland during ground-nesting season, and many attractions ask for dogs to be kept on a lead. Always check with the attraction before you set off.
Tips for a happy holiday with your dog
- Bring their own bed, bowls, towels and a favourite toy, so the cottage smells like home from day one.
- Pack an old towel for muddy paws and a lead you’re happy to get wet.
- Check whether the property has an enclosed garden or a nearby field before you go.
- Tell us when you book that you’re bringing a dog, and how big they are. Most of our dog-friendly homes take one or two small to medium-sized dogs.
